The Barnard College network has extensive wireless connection capabilities in the College's common areas. Wireless connectivity, through the use of radio waves, eliminates the need for physical cables and jacks.
Using a computer and a wireless card, you can sit on the Quad Lawn (or any other location where the wireless network exists) and read your email or surf the Internet. With speeds up to 54 Mbps, Barnard and Columbia faculty, staff and students will not have to sacrifice speed for comfortable surroundings.
Any computer capable of supporting a wireless card (using the IEEE 802.11b/g standard) and positioned near an access point can enjoy the wireless network. For more information, please visit the links at the left.
