Fellows are awarded a stipend for the June Workshop, as well as for the academic year for work with their faculty mentor.
Fellows are reimbursed for the fees incurred in taking a GRE prep course.
If a Mellon Undergraduate Fellow enrolls as a full-time student in a PhD program in a Mellon-identified discipline (see Eligibility) within three years of graduating from Barnard, the Fellow may have a portion of her undergraduate student loans repaid by the Mellon Foundation. Mellon Fellows who do not use this loan repayment allocation to repay undergraduate loans may use this benefit to repay designated educational loans for graduate study from recognized lenders. For more information about loan repayment, please contact Dean Michell Tollinchi-Michel mtollinc@barnard.edu.
