June 2002 Nina Diaz Interning with the Federal Reserve Bank in Los Angeles, Diaz works on the management of cash operations on the national level, analyzes the national checking system, and works with various federal agencies to ensure the safety of the cash system against bio-terrorist threats. May 2002 Gina Patterson Senior Political Science/Women's Studies Major An intern for the Third Wave Foundation, a national philathropic organization which supports young women activiists, Patterson has been integrating practical experience with coursework. April 2002 Laila Shetty Junior Economics Major An intern for Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, Shetty works closely with the senator's press secretary, Nina Blackwell. February 2002 Meghan Avolio Senior Biology Major An intern at the American Museum of Natural History and the Wildlife Conservation Society. Avolio accompanied a research team in Antongil Bay off the coast of East Africa to study humpback whales. January 2002 Michelanne Rothrock Senior Psychology Major An intern at the Accident and Injury Recovery Program of the Department of Psychiatry at New York Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Medical Burn Center, Rothrock works with victims of the September 11th attacks.
