SECOND BARNARD SENIOR EARNS FULBRIGHT SCHOLARSHIP THIS YEAR Barnard senior Ariela Marcus-Sells has been awarded a Fulbright grant
Ariela Marcus-Sells '07, a religion major, has been awarded a Fulbright grant for a year of research in Jordan. Ariela plans to study the role of storytelling and oral narrative among tribes inhabiting the Wadi Mousa.
Upon completing her Fulbright year, she plans to enter a doctoral program in Islamic studies.
Ariela's classmate, Mariam Banahi, was also awarded a Fulbright this year (annouced by Barnard on April 4, 2007). Click here to read about her plans.
Established in 1946, the Fulbright Program aims to increase mutual understanding between the peoples of the United States and other countries, through the exchange of persons, knowledge, and skills.
