Remembers 9/11
The

President
Shapiro led a community observance in memory of those who
died on Sept. 11, 2001 this morning at the memorial tree on
Barnard's Lehman Lawn. A wreath was laid and a moment of silence
observed by Barnard faculty and administrators, students and
staff as the bells of St. Paul's Chapel rang at 8:46 a.m.
to commemorate the moment of impact of the first plane. The
chapel bells rang again in observance of the second plane's
impact at 9:03 a.m.
St. Paul's Chapel at Columbia will be open all day Thursday
for reflection by the community. Sulzberger Parlor South will
also be open from 7 p.m. to midnight in order to view the
city's "Tribute in Light," which will bring back
the lights that shone on downtown Manhattan in March 2002
for one night.
The Barnard Center for Research on Women hosted a forum on
Wednesday evening Sept. 10 at 7 p.m. to examine public feelings
around Sept. 11, and their impact on public policy. Click
