Barnard College Hosts Multi-Media Lecture on Jimi Hendrix October 28

New York, NY— Barnard College will host "Jimi Hendrix: Afrocyberdelia and the Not Yet," a multi-media lecture by Paul Gilroy, professor of African American Studies at Yale University, on Tuesday, October 28.

Paul Gilroy is currently Chair of the Department of African American Studies at Yale University. He is the author of several books, including Against Race: Imagining Political Culture Beyond the Color Line, which The Nation called a "brilliant jeremiad,"
and "There Ain’t No Black In the Union Jack": The Cultural Politics of Race and Nation. His writings address the predicament of Europe’s post-colonial peoples of color as well as the cultural history of western hemisphere black populations.

The event is sponsored by the Pan African Studies Program of Barnard College and takes place 5 p.m. in Sulzberger Parlor, 3rd floor of Barnard Hall at 117th Street and Broadway.
