On November 12, from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. in 403 Kent Hall the Columbia University Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures and the Center for Ethnomusicology is hosting the conference: Tibetan performance, past and present: multidisciplinary avenues of research. During the conference, Barnard Alumna, Kati Fitzgerald will presenting her paper "Oral Teaching Methodologies in the Digital Age". The conference will bring together a group of preeminent scholars to discuss recent research in the fields of cham, lhamo, ritural and folk music from Tibetan regions. Kati Fitzgerald, BC '10, began her study of non-western theatre while doing her BA at Barnard in the Theatre Department. After her graduation, she lived in Nepal and Tibet, conducting research with a focus on the Tibetan form of Lhamo.
