Summer Science Seminar

The Summer Science Seminar Program (S-Cubed Summer) is an initiative developed by Barnard College to encourage interest in the sciences among young women and is based on our successful spring semester Saturday Science Seminar Program.

New for Summer 2015: one and four week courses in Environmental Science, Science and the Law, Psychology, Physics, and Neuroscience.

Barnard has a tradition of excellence preparing women for careers in the sciences. Among our noteworthy alumnae are:
 
Helen Ranney ’41, the first woman to chair a Department of Medicine; Alison Estabrook ’74, the chief of Breast Surgery at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital, Susan Alpert ’69, current Senior Vice President, Chief Regulatory Officer for Medtronic, and Dr. Beryl Benacerraf ’71, the first woman to become clinical professor of obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive biology at Harvard Medical School.
