Please attend this all-important Town Hall mtg sponsored by SGA to be held in the Diana Event Oval at 6pm on 3/2/11. As all of you know — Barnard's longstanding commitment to diversity has always been inclusive of disability as well — so we hope you'll be able to attend to share with SGA, students and administrators the importance of making sure that any discussion of diversity should always be inclusive of the issue of disability and accessibility — both physical and attitudinal — as well. Feel free to stop by ODS to distribute our *Attitudes* and *dna* buttons if you like!
Thanks to all of you who have either stopped by ODS and/or contacted our friends in Facilities Services to inquire about the recent removal of the Sulzberger ramp. We are working closely with Facilities Services to re-install the ramp — as well as plan for a more permanent ramp which can withstand the elements. We will provide an additional update shortly — and thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to help correct the problem.
The National Council of Jewish Women (New York Section) is pleased to announce the continuation of their scholarship program "to students with physical challenges who are currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in the NY Metropolitan area". Grants of up to $3,000 will be awarded — and the very brief application can be downloaded from the Council's website — or you may contact either ODS or the Council at 212/687-5030 x14. Good luck on your application!
Thanks to all of you who completed your SP'11 TAFs by the Friday 2/11 deadline — and Susan Linn has an ongoing and very active spreadsheet of all upcoming tests. If you have a test and will be needing accommodations in the coming weeks — please make sure that you contact Susan L at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled exam so that we can make sure that all necessary accommodations are in place. Remember the very timely ODS motto: Always better to be pro-active than reactive!
