BARNARD HALL

Barnard Hall is located immediately upon entering through the main gate of the Barnard College campus at Broadway and 117th Street.

Sulzberger Parlor

Sulzberger Parlor

The Sulzberger Parlor, located on the 3rd floor of Barnard Hall, features portraits of Barnard presidents and founders, period furniture, a 1923 Steinway concert grand piano, a harpsichord, and a fireplace.  Standard audiovisual equipment for this room includes a sound system with a podium microphone and two wireless handheld microphones as well as an LCD projector with screen and PC or Mac laptop.  Audiovisual Technicians are required to set up and operate this equipment.  This space is ideal for lectures, readings, piano concerts, receptions, and intimate dinners.

James Room

The James Room, located on the 4th floor of Barnard Hall, features a grand piano and a photography exhibit entitled “Faces of Barnard” featuring archival photos of Barnard alumnae.  Standard audiovisual equipment for this room includes a sound system with a podium microphone and two wireless handheld microphones as well as an LCD projector with screen and PC or Mac laptop.  Audiovisual Technicians are required to set up and operate this equipment.  This space is ideal for lectures, board meetings, piano concerts, and receptions.

James Room Set-Ups and Capacities

THE DIANA CENTER

The Diana Center opened in January 2010 and is located in the center of campus.

Event Oval

The Event Oval, located on the lower level (LL1) of The Diana Center, features wooden paneled walls and a elevated stage.  Standard audiovisual equipment for this room includes a sound system with a podium microphone and two wireless handheld microphones as well as an LCD projector with screen and PC or Mac laptop.  Audiovisual Technicians are required to operate this equipment.

The Event Oval is ideal for banquets, concerts, receptions, film screenings, and lectures.  The Lower Level Lobby -- just outside the space -- can be requested for event registration.  For events in the Event Oval, please use the entrance at 119th Street and Broadway.

MILBANK HALL

Milbank Hall is located at the north end of campus.

Ella Weed Room

The Ella Weed Room, located on the 2nd floor of Milbank Hall, features a Louis Comfort Tiffany fireplace.  It is ideal for lectures.

THE QUAD

The Quad is located at the south end of campus and includes four residence hall buildings: Brooks Hall, Hewitt Hall, Reid Hall, and Sulzberger Hall.  BC IDs are required for entrance into the residence halls.  If non BC ID guests are invited to events in one of the Quad buildings, a guest list is required.  Please give the list to Events Management 3 business days prior to the event.  An event organizer must help identify guests at the Front Desk the day of the event.

North Tower

The North Tower, located on the 17th floor of Sulzberger Hall Room, has a view of Barnard campus and uptown Manhattan.  The space has lots of natural light.  Standard audiovisual equipment for this room includes an LCD projector with screen and PC or Mac laptop, and a small PA for program sound.  Audiovisual Technicians are required to set up and operate this equipment.

During business hours, Monday through Friday the space is used for seminar-style meetings.  After business hours, Monday through Friday, or on Saturday and Sunday the space is ideal for seminar-style meetings, receptions and round table set-ups.

North Tower Set-Ups and Capacities
