What is eRecruiting?

It’s Career Development’s database of opportunities for you—internships, part-time off– and on-campus jobs, a calendar of upcoming events, and a place for your personal profile to indicate your areas of interest, so you don’t miss out on any of our programs meant just for you!

First Time Users

  • Follow the online instructions to create your profile.  Categories marked with a red dot are required and must be filled in so you can search for jobs and/or internships.  Be sure to select ALL of your interests so you don’t miss any upcoming programs that match those interests.

  • Your home page will be visible after you complete your personal profile. From the top line navigation bar you can search for jobs or internships, upload documents such as resumes or cover letters, check on events you want to attend, locate alumnae mentors, research careers and update your profile at any time.

Searching for Jobs/Internships

  • For jobs, use the “One Click Searches” feature for your initial searches for student employment, part-time and summer jobs.  Select the search related to your interests and customize your results by typing in keywords, changing sort criteria or selecting Career Center or Experience Network postings.

  • For internships and BEST (Program for Senior Year) opportunities use the “More Searches” feature (the blue box under the message from Career Development). To increase your successful searches, make few specifications. Tip: Type in keywords and click on the ? box for search tips. Or use only the keyword scroll-down menu and click as many of these keywords as you might be interested in by holding down the Ctrl key.  The more keywords you select, the more results you will get.

  • For newly posted internships or jobs, use the One-Click Searches including “Newest Jobs” and “Internship-All opportunities” which are chronologically arranged.

Additional Tips

  • Save Your Searches: On the Search Results page, choose "Save Your Search" under More Search Options. You can also choose to receive email notifications of job matches. Find your saved searches later by choosing "Search for Jobs and Internships" page in the left column.

  • Organize Favorite Jobs/Internships into Folders:  Create folders for future reference. View your search results, check boxes on the left to save those of interest.  Scroll down the page and select “save jobs as favorites.”  You can create a new folder or add to an existing folder for future reference.

  • Upload your resume the easy way:  Select “Documents” in the top navigation bar and click on “upload a document.”  Select the document type (resume, cover letter, writing sample, or other).  You will be prompted to browse your computer for the document.  Once found, click “Upload.”  Your document(s) will then be ready for applying to jobs/internships.  You can rename your documents to identify which you have sent to which organization.  To revise documents, you must delete the current one and upload the new version.  When you click on “Apply” for an opportunity, you will be prompted to select a resume to attach.

  • View the Calendar of Career Development Events:  On the left middle section of your home page, there is a quick link to Upcoming Calendar Events.  Click on an event to find out more and to sign up to attend.  You can also select “Calendar” on the left side of the top navigation bar.  Click on “your upcoming events” to see what you’ve signed up to attend, interviews scheduled, and to verify times and locations.

  • ·Search for Alumnae Mentors:  Select “Mentors” on the top navigation bar and click on “mentor home.”  Enter search criteria, such as employer, industry, location and major.  To obtain mentor contact information, you MUST save the mentor to a folder.  Look at the tip sheet on Informational Interviewing on our website to make the most of your contacts.
