Barnard's Package Tracking Software now provides email notification of package arrivals. You should never reply to these emails, which are automatically generated. The sample notification below is typical and provides you with considerable information. Line numbers will not appear in the email; they have been added below to help follow the explanation.
Line 1 provides the date, time, and point of arrival (“Function”) at Barnard. Items identified as “Function: Central Receiving” will be delivered by the Central Receiving (Purchasing) staff. Lines 2-4 display the Department (Location) and person to whom the item was addressed. On some occasions, only a Department will be listed. Lines 5-9 display the Carrier, Item Type, Quantity, Tracking Number and Sender, should you need to get further information from the sender or carrier. Line 10 (Control Number) will usually show a Purchase Order Number, if there is one associated with this delivery. Line 11 to end simply states this is a Package Notification and provides a link to a web site providing explanatory information about email notification. The above information is typical; the email will sometimes provide more or less information, depending on the particular item. If you have suggestions about the email notification policy, please click on the icon below to send an email message:
