Barnard Library and Academic Information Services

The Barnard Library and Academic Information Services unit advances the mission of the College by supporting excellence and innovation in teaching and learning. It provides information resources and instructional support services that establish a foundation for intellectual inquiry, ethical scholarship, lifelong learning and the dissemination of knowledge.

Office of International Programs

The Office of International Programs (OIP), under the auspices of the Office of the Provost, works to broaden the College’s reach globally through providing faculty with opportunities to further develop connections, courses,  and expertise abroad in support of the College’s internationalization efforts on and off campus; to encourage discussion among faculty, staff and students on the international focus and character of the College; to lead discussion on curricular innovation related to global themes; and to provide the College’s students with the experiences and skills necessary to become active leaders and responsible members of the “increasingly interconnected world” they will enter upon graduating.

Centers

Athena Center for Leadership Studies

The Athena Center investigates the ideas at the forefront of women's leadership – what it means to lead, to motivate, to collaborate, and to excel.

Barnard Center for Research on Women

The Center for Research on Women was founded in 1971 as part of Barnard's longtime commitment to women's equality and to show Barnard's enthusiasm for the new women's movement. The aim of the Center, as articulated by its founding charter, is "to assure that women can live and work in dignity, autonomy, and equality." More than three decades later, we continue to pursue that goal in many ways: by promoting inquiry and advancing knowledge about women; by helping to keep women's issues on the forefront of college life; by seeking to increase ties among diverse groups of women; and by reaching out to students, faculty, administrators, alumnae, as well as scholars, activists and artists beyond Barnard's gates.

Barnard Center for Toddler Development

The mission of the Toddler Center is to provide a warm, positive first school experience for parents and children, and a forum for parents and caregivers to discuss and learn about the development of toddlers; to conduct research on early development and parenting; and to educate students about toddler development.
