Special Events provides a range of event support services including Space Reservations and Audiovisual Services. Events staff can help you with your space set-up needs and arrange audiovisual equipment and support for your event.
To request an event space or classroom after the first two weeks of the semester, contact Space Reservations, spaceres@barnard.edu, x4-7005. See reserve space for more information on who to contact for what spaces.
If you need audiovisual services or support for your event please contact Audiovisual Services, avservices@barnard.edu at x4-3021. You must complete an Audiovisual Request form.
Completed Space and AV forms must be submitted to Special Events a minimum of 10 business days prior to the event. These forms are available on eBear for your convenience. To download forms, log into eBear, click on the “Others” tab and then “Special Events”. Forms as well as information regarding space reservations, set-ups and audiovisual support are also available from the Special Events office in Altschul 011.

IX. Catering
A. Aramark
Aramark x4-6653, is the vendor for the College’s dining service and they also provide catering for meetings and special events. John Casale, the Catering Director can be reached at x4-6653. To submit an order, fax your request to 212-851-7740. Be sure to include what you are requesting, your account number, contact name, and the date, location and time of the event.
B. Outside Catering
You may choose to use outside catering, but please keep in mind you are then responsible for set-up and clean-up. You will also need to supply your own tablecloths.
X. Career Development (OCD)
A. Student Employment
Career Development’s primary mission is to prepare students for their future careers by providing individual counseling, career education programming, and skills-development workshops. Their website has a link for employers to post jobs and lists on- and off-campus positions, internships, and community service opportunities for students.

What can a student worker do? What can’t they do?
It is important to be aware that many things you do are confidential. Therefore it may be helpful to sit down with your students when they first arrive and go over what they can and can’t help you with. For more information see the guidelines on confidentiality.

XI. Public Safety
The Barnard College Public Safety is located just opposite the Main Gate at 117th Street and Broadway, in Barnard Hall, Room 104. It is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including holidays. Security guards are College employees who are unarmed and do not have law enforcement status. They are, however, authorized to detain and apprehend suspects and to maintain order on campus grounds.
Members of the community may report crimes or emergencies at any time, day or night, by calling Public Safety at x88 or x4-3362.
