Weather Update

Due to the storm, Barnard College closed at 4pm Friday, for non-essential personnel. “Essential personnel" include staff in Facilities, Public Safety and Residence Halls.  

Friday evening and weekend classes are cancelled but events are going forward as planned unless otherwise noted. The Athena Film Festival programs are also scheduled to go forward as planned but please check http://athenafilmfestival.com/ for the latest information. 

The Barnard Library and Archives closed at 4pm Friday and will remain closed on Saturday, Feb. 9.  The Library will resume regular hours on Sunday opening at 10am.  

Please be advised that due to the conditions, certain entrances to campus may be closed.  The main gate at 117th Street & Broadway will remain open.  For further updates on college operations, please check this website, call the College Emergency Information Line 212-854-1002 or check AM radio station 1010WINS.

Course Technology

Instructional Media and Technology Services (IMATS)

Instructional Media and Technology Services (IMATS) provides services and resources for teaching and learning that includes audio visual and video production services for curricular activities, classrooms, and special events.  In addition, IMATS supports effective use of educational technologies such as CourseWorks, wikis, blogs, iTunes U, clickers, and more.  Consult IMATS staff (x4-2418; imats@barnard.edu) or the IMATS website for more information.

The Library's Media Collection houses an extensive permanent collection of CDs, DVDs, and videotapes, faculty media reserves, and an archival collection of dance and theatre productions videotaped at Barnard from 1974 to the present.  All media items are located on the 3rd floor of the Barnard Library.  For inquiries concerning the media collection send an e-mail to mediacollection@barnard.edu.

Columbia Center for New Media Teaching and Learning

Barnard faculty also have access to Columbia’s Center for New Media Teaching and Learning.  CCNMTL partners with faculty to enhance their teaching and learning through the purposeful use of new media.
