Travel & Lodging

Barnard College is located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan between 116th and 120th Streets along the west side of Broadway. It is easily accessible by car, bus, or subway from anywhere in New York City, including the local airports. Participants are expected to make their own travel arrangements.

Campus Housing

Barnard College will provide participant housing in a campus dormitory for the following nightly rates. Participants can reserve their rooms during online registration. Rates for Summer 2010 will be posted in early spring. Rooms have minimal furnishings and access to shared bathrooms, although they are equipped with air-conditioning, linens, and a high-speed internet connection. The rooms will be available beginning Wednesday, June 9 at 4:00 pm and ending Monday, June 14 at 10:00 am. 

Participants wishing to stay off campus may make their own lodging arrangements. A limited number of guest rooms are available at nearby Union Theological Seminary, Teachers College, and Columbia University. These facilities are available to guests of the Columbia University community. For more information or to make reservations, please contact these institutions directly.

Parking 

Due to construction on campus, parking at Barnard is not available. Participants are asked to consider parking arrangements when making their travel plans. There are several parking garages within walking distance of Barnard that have reasonable rates:
