CAMPUS WORKSHOPS

In addition to regularly scheduled conferences, the consortium can also arranges facult development workshops for institutions interested in bringing RTTP to their campuses. Coordinated by the central program office at Barnard College, we offer various configurations to accommodate the needs of host institutions, ranging from single-day introductory seminars to two- and four-day intensive workshops.

Includes:             Stipends for one faculty convener and two student preceptors
                              Instructional materials for participants
                              Coordination of workshop schedule, game agenda, and role assignments
                              Participant mailings and pre-workshop guidance

Day 1
9:00 – 10:00	Welcome; Introduction to “Reacting to the Past”
10:00 – 12:30	Game Setup Discussion of the Historical Background, Central Texts, and Game Elements Faction Meetings
12:30 – 2:00	Lunch Break
2:00 – 4:00	Game Session 1 Activities vary depending on game choice
4:00 – 5:15	Plenary Session: The Classroom Experience Q&A with Faculty and Students
Day 2
9:00 – 11:00	Game Session 2 Activities vary depending on game choice
11:00 – 12:30	Plenary Session: Curricular Considerations—Course Objectives, Class Sizes and Syllabi Q&A with Faculty
12:30 – 2:00	Lunch Break
2:00 – 4:00	Game Session 3 (final) and Post-Mortem Discussion Activities vary depending on game choice Participants discuss the historical record, their roles, and reactions to the game
4:00 – 5:15	Closing Session: “Reacting” to the Crisis in General Education Discussion of the possible functions of RTTP in the curriculum, such as general education courses, skills development, and discipline-specific study.
