RED ALERT!! DANGEROUS COMPUTER VIRUS ON THE LOOSE!!!! THREAT LEVEL HIGH! PROTECT YOURSELF NOW!!

Sorry to about the scare tactic, but hey, it got your attention, didn't it?

FACT: If you plug your computer into an ethernet jack without first protecting it, YOU WILL GET A VIRUS! The average time it takes to get a worm, starting immediately after you stick the plug in the jack, is 7 minutes! Viruses can delete your papers, keep you from connecting to the internet, and do all kinds of nasty stuff... ugh!

FACT: You can prevent this very easily by turning on your windows XP firewall, setting up regular virus scans, and doing your Windows updates!!! :-)

This is really easy to do! Just pick up the Safe Connection worksheet and the Computer Cleanup worksheet from the Barnard Help Desk in the Lehman Computer Center.

Not only will you not have to wait hours for help from an RCA, you'll also learn how to protect yourself and not rely on anyone, especially your boyfriend, for help with computers! Don't you hate asking guys for help? I do. I especially hate their condescending attitude when they assume they know better than you about technological stuff. So prove you're a bad one and be a digital diva like yours truly! And keep up with my postings... I'll be giving you tons of fancy little tips and tricks that will help you blow the world away with your crazy supernatural ability to fix computers!!

Love,
The Digital Diva (that's actually my name)
