Terminal is the program used to login to SSH on MacOSX, instead of SSH Secure Shell. There is also the option of using X11 on the Leopard OS. There is no difference between the two programs.
Open Terminal from the Applications/Utilities folder on your hard drive.
At the command prompt, type "ssh username@host" and press enter.
| Account | Host | Username | Password |
| BC Student | eclipse.barnard.edu | uni | Barnard email password |
| BC Faculty and Staff | bc.barnard.edu | uni | Barnard email password |
| Columbia | cunix.columbia.edu | uni | Columbia uni password |
Type in your password (no characters will appear while you type) and press enter when you are done.
If the server asks you to accept a fingerprint or asks you if you want to connect, say "yes" by typing "yes."
Now you are logged in. After this point, any instructions for SSH Secure Client also apply to using SSH through Terminal.
