Go to a location on campus where secure wireless networking is available. See
here for more
information about our project. Click on one of the links below to see a map
of wireless coverage on the Barnard and Columbia campuses.
Turn on your Airport. This is the built in wireless card for Apple computers.
Select the network specific to your location (i.e. Barnard Quad or 616).
A window saying, "The selected Airport network requires a password to join" will open. Make sure that the Wireless
Security is configured for WPA-Enterprise. For the 802.1x Configuration, select the TTLS-PAP option. Fill out your
user name and password, this is the same as your eBear and webmail user name and password.
Barnard students: Fill in your Barnard ID and password (same as for eBear and Webmail).
Columbia students: Fill in your Cubmail address and password.
A new "Verify Certificate" window will pop up, telling you that server certificate is not trusted.
Click on Show Certificate.
Check the "Always trust these certificates" box. Click Continue.
Open your browser, check for connection.
If you need further support in setting up your wireless connection,
please contact Barnard Resnet.
