Secure Wireless Setup for Mac (Tiger) Users
- Go to a location on campus where secure wireless networking is available. See here for more information about our project. Click on one of the links below to see a map of wireless coverage on the Barnard and Columbia campuses.
- Turn on your Airport. This is the built in wireless card for Apple computers.
- Select the network specific to your location (i.e. Barnard Quad or 616).
- A window saying, "The selected Airport network requires a password to join" will open. Make sure that the Wireless
Security is configured for WPA-Enterprise. For the 802.1x Configuration, select the TTLS-PAP option. Fill out your
user name and password, this is the same as your eBear and webmail user name and password.
- Barnard students: Fill in your Barnard ID and password (same as for eBear and Webmail).
- Columbia students: Fill in your Cubmail address and password.
- A new "Verify Certificate" window will pop up, telling you that server certificate is not trusted.
Click on Show Certificate.
- Check the "Always trust these certificates" box. Click Continue.
- Open your browser, check for connection.
