STUDENT DEVELOPMENT

The Office of Student Development, as overseen by Dean Marjorie Silverman, is responsible for student life as it relates to:

The Office works with the Office of the Dean of Studies and Office of Residential Life to support related student needs in the residence halls and their academic life. It is also the liaison to Columbia University's Rape Crisis/Anti-Violence Center.

Marjorie Croes Silverman is the Associate Dean of the College and Dean for Student Development. She earned her B.A. and M.A. from New York University and a Ph.D. in psychology at Columbia University. She has done research on identity development in late adolescent females. Dr. Silverman also oversees academic advising for transfer students and is the grant administrator for a Mellon Student Life Grant, which supports opportunities for students and faculty to collaborate outside the classroom.
