Due to the storm, Barnard College closed at 4pm Friday, for non-essential personnel. “Essential personnel" include staff in Facilities, Public Safety and Residence Halls.
Friday evening and weekend classes are cancelled but events are going forward as planned unless otherwise noted. The Athena Film Festival programs are also scheduled to go forward as planned but please check http://athenafilmfestival.com/ for the latest information.
The Barnard Library and Archives closed at 4pm Friday and will remain closed on Saturday, Feb. 9. The Library will resume regular hours on Sunday opening at 10am.
Please be advised that due to the conditions, certain entrances to campus may be closed. The main gate at 117th Street & Broadway will remain open. The JCCC provides funding jointly from the four undergraduate councils, SGA, Columbia College Student Council, Engineering Student Council and General Studies Student Council. Please fill out the application below and email it to treasurers@columbia.edu.
Joint Council Co-Sponsorship Committee Application (JCCC)
The time frame for applications is as follows:
Friday, 5:00 PM- Deadline to submit application and any supplementary documentation to treasurers@columbia.edu.
Saturday, 12:00 PM- Receive an email from the Chair of the JCCC (rotates monthly) that gives a presentation time on Sunday between 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM.
Sunday, 5:00-6:00 PM- Attend scheduled presentation slot in Lerner E568.
following Wednesday, 12:00 PM- Receive notification of total amount of co-sponsorship.
following Thursday, 12:00 PM- The Chair of the JCCC will submit for the transfer of funds from the Chair’s Council account to the group’s account by this time.
The Green Fund is an initiative created by the Sustainable Initiative Consulting Board to promote the sustainable spirit of Barnard's community. It is envisioned as a launching pad for students toinnovate ways of improving Barnard College's environmental performance and reducing campus emissions. Ideas and events funded by The Green Fund are tailored to meet Barnard's sustainable goals, collaborating efforts from both students, faculty and staff.
