Weather Update
Due to the storm, Barnard College closed at 4pm Friday, for non-essential personnel. “Essential personnel" include staff in Facilities, Public Safety and Residence Halls.
Friday evening and weekend classes are cancelled but events are going forward as planned unless otherwise noted. The Athena Film Festival programs are also scheduled to go forward as planned but please check http://athenafilmfestival.com/ for the latest information.
The Barnard Library and Archives closed at 4pm Friday and will remain closed on Saturday, Feb. 9. The Library will resume regular hours on Sunday opening at 10am.
Please be advised that due to the conditions, certain entrances to campus may be closed. The main gate at 117th Street & Broadway will remain open. Internships available at Operations, Barnard College
Operations has immediate openings available for paid internships. This opportunity is open to first-year and second-year Barnard and Columbia undergraduate students only. We accept work-study and non work-study applicants.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist in Operations operation including data jack termination, switch replacement, server upgrades, and programming.
- Work on special projects under the direction of an Operations staff member.
- Learn new skills as outlined by long-term training plan, using books, online training, one-on-one mentoring and other resources.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Basic knowledge of desktop computing technology.
- Demonstrates willingness and desire to learn new computer skills.
- Available 10 - 15 hours/week.
- Commitment to working at Operations through senior year of college and completing detailed learning plan.
- Computer-related major not required.
- Prior employment with computer technology preferred, but not required.
