Barnard's
setting may be serene, but those who populate it make Barnard
a lively place -- intellectually, culturally, and socially.
Lehman Lawn is often the center of communal life at Barnard,
host to Springfest, Clash of the Classes, vendor fairs, and
pick-up volleyball games. On nice days, classes often meet
impromptu on the lawn and students come to catch up with friends.

"Lehman
Lawn -- A place for schmoozing, eating and reading.
The scene of many graduations with prominent commencement
speakers. A lawn that changes with the seasons
and adds an element of rural life."
