Writing Fellow Applications Now Available! 3/8/10 Do you like writing? Do you like working with your peers? Please consider applying to be a Writing Fellow! The Writing Fellows are specially selected Barnard undergraduates who participate in a semester-long workshop in the teaching of writing and, having finished their training, staff the Barnard Writing Center and work in courses across the disciplines. Students in all majors are encouraged to apply. Applicants must be rising sophomores or juniors. ******************************************* An Information Session will be held on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 from 5:20-6:20pm in DIA LL 104. ******************************************** Please click on the "Apply" link above to download the application. You may also visit the Writing Center in 18 Milbank to pick up an application, or you may obtain one from outside Pam Cobrin’s office (Barnard Hall 411B). Grammar Workshop 2/2/10 The Writing Program, along with Human Resources, the Dean of the College, and Office of Disability Studies, are happy to announce that the Grammar Workshop will taking place this year! This not-for-credit workshop is open to students, faculty, and staff. It will cover the basics of parts of speech and sentence structure, work with both student writing and published writing samples, investigate some infamous grammar mysteries, and practice the rules of punctuation and presentation that all professional writers must follow. It will take place in Barnard 409 on six Tuesdays from 12:00-1:00pm: 2/16, 2/23, 3/2, 3/9, 3/23, & 4/9. Writing Center Opening 1/20/10The Barnard Writing Center will open for the Spring 2010 semester on February 1, 2010. Our online scheduler will be live starting on January 25.
