Constellation Leader’s Role
The Constellation Leaders (CLs) will guide their Constellation groups through service projects lead by Barnard Reach Out, plan social and academic programs, and maintain an online community specific to their group. CLs will serve as leaders, helping new students navigate Barnard, New York City, and their first year on campus. They will also serve as liaisons between administrators and student leaders (Residential Assistants, Orientation Leaders, the Student Government Association, etc.) to enhance college-wide collaboration.
All candidates should be running for the CL position for the Constellation in which they are currently a member.
Constellation Leader Responsibilities
*Manage your Constellation’s Facebook page.
*Take pictures at all Constellations events.
*Serve as a liaison between various offices, administrators, and student leaders.
*Adhere to an average time commitment of 6-8 hours a week (flexible) throughout the year.
*Coordinate four programs per semester.
*Budget appropriately for your programs using an allotted programming stipend.
*Attend Bi-Weekly Constellation Leader meetings which include all CLs and the advising staff.
*Attend Bi-Weekly (on the alternate weeks) one on one meetings with the Constellations advisor.
*Lead an off-campus trip for the new first-year students in your Constellation during NSOP.
*Must remain in good academic standing.
Mandatory Move-In and Training Information
CL Move-In: Wednesday, August 14th
CL Training: August 15th-21st (except Saturday and Sunday)
CL NSOP Responsibilities: Be available to host and work programs August 23rd- September 2nd
Thursday, April 4th
12pm- Intent to run due to firstname.lastname@example.org
*Your intent to run should include a photo of yourself and a short summary (no more than 250 words) of why you think you would be the best candidate for your Constellation.
5pm- Vocal and Electronic Campaigning Begins
*You may use Facebook and send emails but only to one person at a time (no mass emails).
Sunday, April 7th
9pm- Print Campaigning Begins
*You must follow the posting policy when fliering on campus.
Monday, April 8th at 9am- Thursday, April 11th at 12pm
*Voting takes place on eBear
