Now in its 10th season, Barnard/ Columbia Dances at New York Live Arts (formerly the Barnard Project) will feature students in four new commissions by women artists: Patricia Hoffbauer, Brazilian-born New York dance artist whose work, Para-dice, was recently presented at Danspace Project; Sam Kim ’95, a recent resident artist at New York Live Arts and Baryshnikov Arts Center; Pam Tanowitz, recipient of a 2009 New York Dance and Performance Award (“Bessie”) and a 2011 Guggenheim Fellowship; and Barnard Associate Professor of Professional Practice Colleen Thomas-Young, who is also artistic director of Colleen Thomas Dance.
