Please see your invitation for your RSVP deadline. Remember: CHOOSING THIS OPTION WHEN YOU RSVP MEANS YOU PLAN TO ATTEND BOTH PRE-OPEN HOUSE AND OPEN HOUSE! If you are unable to join us for the full program, contact Christina Lopez, Associate Director of Admissions and Coordinator of Multicultural Recruitment, with any questions.
Yes, if you live locally and are unable to stay the night, you are welcome to come just for the day on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, without an overnight stay. Choose this option when you RSVP.
If you missed the registration deadline and would like to attend the program during the DAY ONLY on SUNDAY OR MONDAY, you may arrive on campus and check in at our registration table. Indicate that you would like to attend the program for the day and we will take down your information. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate overnight visitors who have not registered in advance.
Yes, of course, parents and family members are invited to join you. We'd love to meet them and we know they're a big part of this decision. All are welcome to attend any of the events, but we can't accommodate parents for an overnight stay or for class visits.
We suggest you divide and conquer the events offered. Between panels and tours and classes, you'll need another set of eyes to experience it all!
When you check in with us in Barnard Hall on Sunday between 1 and 3 PM, you will have the opportunity to choose the class you would like to visit Monday. Tickets are generated by the spaces available in each class over each of the many time periods throughout the day. Classes may take place during other programming, so you will need to make your selections carefully.
One class ticket will be available (for students only) and they are made available on a first-come, first-served basis. We cannot guarantee you will be able to visit a class in your planned major, but related course options may be available.
Students interested in visiting a theatre performance class must contact the department in advance.
Students interested in visiting a dance class during open house should note that visits are for observation only.
If you are unable to make either Open House event, we encourage you to visit on a weekday when you can still visit a class or on the select weekend days where we are offering tours.
Take a look at Visit Barnard for details.
If you stay overnight, you will be hosted by a current student. Be prepared: Bring your sleeping bag, a pillow, and your essentials. It's rare to have an extra bed in an active residence hall.
And, don't forget to bring your cell phone so that you will be able to stay in touch on campus and off and a picture ID to get into the residence halls.
1).The Biography Statement is required of every participant in the Pre-Open House for Students of Color Program. It will be shared with your fellow students, alumnae, and staff and will highlight your personal story. Enter yours here.
