Ananda Breed, co-director of the Centre for Performing Arts Development at the University of East London and author of Performing the Nation: Genocide, Justice, Reconciliation, explores the uses of performance and indigenous forms of mediation in the reconciliation processes following the 1994 Rwandan genocide. The event is cosponsored by the Barnard College Department of Theatre, Stages of Inquiry; the Barnard Center for Translation Studies; and the Willen Seminar in Translation Studies.
