Barnard's New York City Civic Engagement Program (NYCCEP) is pleased to announce that the college has been named a Certifying Organization for the President’s Volunteer Service Award, a national program recognizing Americans who have demonstrated a sustained commitment to volunteer service.
As a Certifying Organization for the award, NYCCEP is responsible for verifying service hours, nominating potential recipients and delivering the award. NYCCEP will certify service hours for Barnard students, alumnae, and faculty and staff. Each award recipient will receive an official President’s Volunteer Service Award lapel pin, a personalized certificate of achievement, and a congratulatory letter from the President of the United States. Please visit NYCCEP’s website for award requirements and for more information on how to apply for the award.
On Thursday, October 6th, the Barnard College Community Service Fair will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Diana Center's Event Oval. More than 30 New York City-area community organizations will be there to share information on the many volunteer opportunities available on campus, around Morningside Heights and throughout the city. All students, faculty and staff at Barnard and Columbia are welcome to attend.
