The FDD invites you to a Faculty Forum on "Gender and Sexuality in Inclusive Classrooms" on Monday, March 27, 4:10 - 6:00 p.m, 518 Diana.

Panelists:

Paisley Currah, Department of Political Science, Brooklyn College (https://politicalscience.commons.gc.cuny.edu/faculty/paisley-currah/)
T.J. Jourian, Social justice scholar, advocate, and consultant (http://www.tjjourian.net)
Tey Meadow, Department of Sociology, Columbia University (http://scholar.harvard.edu/teymeadow/home)
João Nemi Neto, Department of Latin American and Iberian Cultures, Columbia University (http://laic.columbia.edu/author/1234567899/)

Moderator: Krista McGuire, Assistant Professor of Biology, Barnard College

In light of Barnard's recently established transgender admissions and pronoun policies, we have asked panelists to reflect on such questions as:

- What can faculty do to ensure their classrooms continue to be open and accepting to the full spectrum of gender expression?
- What are the broader ways in which faculty can create and sustain "safe and non-discriminatory" spaces for our students?
- What do they think the "ideal classroom" of the future should look like?

Our goal is a broader conversation among faculty about how to improve our instructional practices in ways that help our students do their best learning.

Refreshments will be served.
