FALL SEMESTER

 

SEPTEMBER

Due September 14:

  • Ensure availability of major advisers to approve final fall program-filing before the deadline and reassign advisees of faculty on leave

 

Reminders:

·         Introduction of new full-time faculty members at first faculty meeting

·         Meet with junior faculty to review course evaluations form previous years by the end of September

·         Begin preparing dossiers for senior-off ladder faculty reviews

·         Begin planning for department majors program planning meetings

 

OCTOBER

Due October 8:

·         Spring Directory of Classes Information due to Registrar

·         Changes in online catalogue for spring semester due to Provost’s Office

 

Due October 9:

·         Graduation materials (certified transcripts, senior project grades, nominations for departmental honors) for October candidates due to the Registrar

 

Due October 12:

·         New spring courses due to the Committee on Instruction

·         Faculty applications for internal grants due to the Provost’s Office

 

 

NOVEMBER

Due November 5:

·         Post textbook information for spring courses on CourseWorks

 

Due November 15:

·         Internal promotion notifications due to Provost’s Office

 

November 19

·         Ensure availability of major advisers to approve advance spring program-filing before the deadline and reassign advisees for faculty on leave

·         Begin Department budget planning

·         Survey faculty and staff on computer requests

·         Tenure nominations for 6th year assistant professors due January 15th

 

DECEMBER         

Due December 1:

·         Senior off-ladder review dossiers due in the Provost’s Office

·         Submit non-renewal notice in 2nd academic year to Provost’s Office

·         Tow Award for Innovative and Outstanding Pedagogy Applications due to the Provost’s Office

 

Due December 10:

·         All appointment forms for January payroll due to Provost Office

 

Due December 12:

·         Submit approved transcripts for February degree candidates to Registrar

 

Due December 17:

·         Department budget planning requests including computer needs due to Provost’s Office

·         Begin preparation for third year reviews of Assistant Professors

·         Begin Applications for President’s Research Awards due February 1

 

SPRING SEMESTER

JANUARY

Due January 18:

·         Nominations for departmental honors and senior project grades for February Degree Candidates due to Registrar.

 

Due January 15:

·         Notification of tenure nominations for 6th year assistant professors due to Provost’s Office

·         Internal promotion notifications due to Provost’s Office

 

Due January 25:

·         Ensure availability of major advisers to approve final spring program-filing before deadline and reassign advisees of faculty on leave

·         Start preparation for Professional Development Leave (PDL) and Senior Faculty Research Leave (SFRL) applications

·         Begin preparing departmental nominations for teaching awards

FEBRUARY

Due February 1:

·         Referee and comparison lists for tenure nominations due to Provost’s Office

·         Changes in the catalogue, directory of classes and first-year guide due to Provost’s Office

 

Due late February:

·         Departmental nominations for teaching awards due to Chairs the week before Chairs meeting

 

Reminders:

·         Begin preparing requests to the FBPC for new faculty searches in coming academic year

·         Begin preparing nominations for College-wide fellowships and prizes

 

MARCH

Due March 1:

·         New fall courses due to COI

·         Dossier materials due for fall tenure cases due to Provost’s Office

·         Completed internal promotion materials due to Provost’s Office

·         Submit non-renewal notice in first academic year to Provost’s Office

·         Requests to FBPC for new faculty searches in coming academic year due to Provost’s Office

 

Due March 10:

·         Submit nominations for College-wide fellowships and prizes to Dean of Studies

 

Due March 15:

·         Submit Professional Development Leave (PDL) and Senior Faculty Research Leave (SFRL) applications to Provost’s Office

·         Begin preparation of materials for annual assessment report and announce annual departmental assessment meeting

 

APRIL

Due April 1:

Due April 15:

·         Completed third year reviews due to Provost’s Office

·         Submit transcripts and nominations for departmental honors for May graduation candidates to Registrar.

·         Ensure availability of major advisers to approve advance fall program-filing before the deadline and reassign advisees for faculty on leave

·         Begin compiling Chair’s annual report

 

MAY

Due May 10:

·         Submit completed faculty personnel forms to chairs and Provost’s Office

·         Submit senior project grades for May degree candidates to Registrar. 

 

Due May 10:

·         Submit revised information for Guide to Academic Advising to Dean of Studies

 

Due May 31:

·         Submit chair’s annual report for salary review and annual assessment report to Provost’s Office

 

Reminders:

·         Last opportunity to make purchases in the current fiscal year’s budget

 

SUMMER

 

JUNE

Due June 1:
