Barnard Dance Professor Colleen Thomas recently took four Dance majors to Paris to participate in an intensive program through the University of South Florida. While Nicole Cerutti BC ’12, Marie Janicek BC ’12, Taryn McGovern BC’13 , and Erin Stahmer CC’12 had many memorable moments in Paris, Professor Thomas describes one experience in particular that stood out: “The Barnard students were asked to improvise with the Herve Koubi Company, an Algerian company, dancing at the Onze Bouge dance festival… The Onze Bouge festival loved what they did and Herve asked them to come up on stage after their show the next night and improvise in front of the audience. It was beautiful to watch our woman improvise with these (ten) huge Algerian men.”
