Weather Update

Due to the storm, Barnard College closed at 4pm Friday, for non-essential personnel. “Essential personnel" include staff in Facilities, Public Safety and Residence Halls.  

Friday evening and weekend classes are cancelled but events are going forward as planned unless otherwise noted. The Athena Film Festival programs are also scheduled to go forward as planned but please check http://athenafilmfestival.com/ for the latest information. 

The Barnard Library and Archives closed at 4pm Friday and will remain closed on Saturday, Feb. 9.  The Library will resume regular hours on Sunday opening at 10am.  

Please be advised that due to the conditions, certain entrances to campus may be closed.  The main gate at 117th Street & Broadway will remain open.  For further updates on college operations, please check this website, call the College Emergency Information Line 212-854-1002 or check AM radio station 1010WINS.

Partnership Agreement

Students Can Expect To:   Students Are Expected To:
  1. Be treated with respect, consideration, and dignity.
  2. Be seen in privacy.
  3. Have their medical records kept confidential. Unless required by law, they will not be released outside of PCHS without written consent.
  4. Receive all pertinent information concerning their diagnosis, evaluation, treatment and prognosis in a timely fashion.
  5. Participate in decisions regarding their health care.
  6. Have the right to refuse to participate in any research project that may be offered through Primary Care without in any way jeopardizing their right to care.
 
  1. Treat Primary Care Staff with courtesy as we work together to meet their health needs.
  2. Provide feedback, both positive and negative, about any aspect of PCHS. This can be done in person, through the Suggestion Box directly outside of PCHS, or through email (bslade@barnard.edu).
  3. Arrive for appointments in a timely manner, and to call PCHS ahead of time if they must cancel or miss an appointment.
  4. Acquaint themselves with PCHS policies and procedures relevant to access of care.
  5. Provide PCHS with complete and accurate information about their health to be the best of their ability, and to follow any treatment plans prescribed.

Primary Care is focused on providing Barnard Students with excellent clinical health care in a culturally sensitive, non-judgemental and responsive manner. We look forward to collaborating with students to support their individual health and wellness and to helping them become knowledgeable and effective users of health care.
