What is your favorite part of your job?

My favorite part of the job is the meaningful work to advance the institution and the presence of women in all industries. I am proud to witness the strength of vision throughout the Barnard community, especially Beyond Barnard, where we provide students with access to pertinent information, resources, and exciting opportunities to learn essential skills and leverage their liberal arts education. I am passionate about representation, as I recognize the importance of seeing people like yourself or those who share similar experiences in various industries, positions, or places. I am honored to be a part of a mission that celebrates all women, acknowledging our value and how multifaceted and different we are. Integrating this ideology in the work we do is the magic that facilitates the mark we leave on the world.

If you could speak to your college self, what advice would you give them?

I would tell her to acknowledge her accomplishments and failures because both are stepping stones to success, as success is not linear. I found myself striving for perfection despite personal challenges while pursuing my education.  At times I would focus on the obstacles I was experiencing rather than celebrating my victories. College can be an overwhelming time as you are on the journey of self-discovery. I would remind her to embrace and learn from each moment so that she can use it to create the person she wants to be and the life she wants to have.
